Best to negotiate a better price?

    or use the price comparison to join them again and let your policy lapse, i.e not renew.

    Your title says they're cheaper direct. Your text says they're cheaper THAN direct. Which do you mean?

    Assuming you mean that they've quoted you a renewal of £X, but they're coming up as £X-200 on a price comparison site, yes you should obviously negotiate. Admiral do this to me every year, and always match the price comparison quote when I call them up...
