We are having major problems with BT. As a small business we opted to leave them because of their bad service and they just keep making up different one-off charges - every few weeks the come up with another charge. The latest one BT billing are blaming BT local business - but BT local business says they don't do the billing it has nothing to do with them and neither of them can tell us what the charge is actually for - as it is £554.24 it is a significant amount. Especially considering we have already paid £1555.26 in various cancellation charges - We seem to be at a stalemate - I thought about the Ombudsman but the web tells me that they wont intervene. Can anyone help us to be shot of BT once and for all.

Google bt complaints code of practice, this outlines what you should do and they 'should' do (yes irony!) Don't call them, you'll only get someone else who will send you crazy with frustration - write to them and send it signed for - tell them you want a deadlock letter if they cannot give you an outcome and tell them you are following this code of practice and will continue to the end, to the ombudsman if not dealt with - if you are thinking that this means 8 weeks, then believe me, they can drag it out for months - this is about the only thing that gets them into gear instead of fobbing you off on the phone. Also use facebook, tell the world how bad they are, they usually have someone monitoring this who might be able to help.
I found using the phone is useless, when you write someone has to deal with it, instead of you just being someone they need to get off the phone so they can say they answered so many calls within an hour.0 -
