Gas Kwh on in home display

My move to monthly billing, from PAYG OVO, has gone ahead and am wondering about my gas charges from my previous supplier OVO.
As my smart meter does not work with my new supplier, I have to give my meter readings. Yesterday, I gave my opening readings of 1437 (elec) and 271 (gas). These were taken just after midnight. Although my meters have been set to a zero rate charge, by OVO, my in home display still displays my usage.
I have taken a reading just now 1446 (elec) and 274 (gas). My in home display says that for yesterday, I used 54.53 kWh of gas. This corresponds to my smart meter reading for yesterday's usage.
My gas meter measure in m3, so for yesterday, I used 3 m3 of gas.
Using the formula of m3 * 39.6 * 1.02264 / 3.6 (taken from a how to read ovo gas bill video), I calculate that I have used 33.75 kWh.
How has my meter calculated 54.53 kWh for yesterday?
My gas meter also gives an overall kWh reading, which is 3082
By using the above formula, I get 274 m3 to equal 3082.
So how can the overall kWh reading appear correct, when my daily readings appear incorrect?
Also, when I was with OVO, I noticed they calculated my usage on my daily readings
I hope someone can check my figures.

When you read your meter was the difference in your two readings exactly 3.00 ? For such small figures the numbers after the decimal point become significant.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

You are probably correct. I did not realise there was an extra key press after volume and then kWh, which reads 274.7225

Button 9 ,one press, second screen should show the 8 digits of a metric gas meter to one hundreths.Still seems well short of the 54kwh daily read if you had used exactly 3.722. I make it around 41 kwh sThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

No, button 9 just hows the whole number. No decimal places. It is the liberty smart meter - the standard one that OVO fit.0

I have videoed the display for the number 9 button

I see 00275m³ under 'Volume' and then 00275/8692 m³ under 'Volume TST'
Is the first the 'whole' value for billing and the second the precise value (which you'd need to test it was working with small volumes)?
It wouldn't account for the whole difference, but how can the meter know the correct Calorific Value (The 39.6 in the original calculation), given that It can vary over time?
(Fancy as these things are, I don't believe they can measure it themselves)
It must use some pre-determined figure, which would inflate the kWh figure if it was higher than the one used on the bill.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux0 -
I can only assume that any change is updated by the provider remotely.0
