Gleeson Homes

Options
We are currently looking at purchasing a house with Gleeson Homes and would like to know if anyone else has had experience dealing with them. The information and help we have had so far from their sales reps have been really good. No hard sell, very honest with what comes with the house and what doesn't,

Would like to know if anyone has used their schemes such as Save & Build or Aspire To Own as we are weighing up both with HTB. As FTB we are trying to make sure everything is re proceeeding as don't want to be stung or left with large costs for something we weren't aware of such as ground rent etc.

  • I don't know much about them other than the fact they class themselves as "urban regeneration" builders that build on old industrial sites. Check out their reviews on facebook and the like. At least near me, their houses seem cheaper than a lot of the other builders. The question is how do they do this? Are their houses smaller than others?

From one first time buyer to another, RIP mortgage guarantee scheme. It got me a lovely 60s house with all the benefits of having something older (size, parking to name a couple).
  • Mine is hopefully being finished in December, looked in show house and fell in love was a little bit smaller than old houses we could get for same price. Lay outs where far superior with room being utilised well, might be sales talk but they are a regeneration firm so they buy heal unwanted land no one else wants ?. The bricks appparantly are half the price of normal ones not sure how much this affects quality.

After looking at older houses in the area and the new gleesons ones it seemed a obvious choice, our agent has been a bit Naff and messed up a few appointments though so who knows really I may be posting in December with an unbuilt house.

Our house is freehold so no ground rent as far as I'm aware. Save and build is good but I'm sick of the pointless appointments
