Inaccurate data - Same name on report!!

Please Help!!!
Over the last 5 years I have been constantly battling with the CRA to remove credit agreements, linked addresses and CCJ’s that are not associated to me. The problem I have faced is that the inaccurate data on my report has my first name and surname and the date of birth is similar to mine (only being out by one month either side). I thought this could possibly be an error as the information was alike until I had a debt collector turn up at my door! However, he quickly realised that I was not the person he had been tracking down as he showed me a picture on his iPad of the offender standing next to a hire car!!!
All this person’s poor credit or missed payment links him to addresses on the south coast somewhere I have never lived, so other than providing my birth certificate when the D.O.B is incorrect I have no other proof to remove this incorrect data?
It usually takes me 3 months to clean up my report and by that time I am starting to get new data on my report, so as you can imagine this is very time consuming and frustrating.
I have been to Citizens Advice and have used the support of banks when applying for previous mortgages but nothing seems to stop this person appearing on my report.
I can’t disassociate myself with this person as our names are identical and he has lived at so many addresses the list would be endless so I am really stuck on what to do, I must be mistakenly linked to this person but can’t seem to unlock myself from him.
Is there any advice you could give as the CRA's and debt collectors are not interested!!

Get all the facts together and in the first instance submit your case to the ICO. If you don't get rapid satisfaction unfortunately you may need to contact a solicitor. From what you say, the CRAs are in serious breach of data protection regulations (very common), so they need taking to task. You should also submit a claim for compensation, based amongst other things on the time you've spent trying to clear up all the excrement the CRAs keep dumping on your doorstep.
In terms of the scum, don't communicate with them at all. Especially don't divulge any personal information to them. If they turn up on your doorstep order them off your property.0 -
Thanks but will that stop him appearing on my report in the future? I need to some how find how he has been linked to my report and who is responsible to then take them to task, or could it just be that our personal details are so similar?
I never divulge any information to the debt collectors and l always withhold my number if I call to stem the forever flow of of demands/letters, Lowell Portfolio seem to be the main culprit!
Does anyone recommend a Solicitor that deals with credit reports?
