Can I challenge Insurance excess Fees?

HI.
Last year, i had three separate incidents on my motorhome but I declared they were all done on a trip to france or immediateky before.
one complex damage and two minor incidents.
My insurance company said I had to pay three times my excess £350 per claim.
Stupidly, I didn't research if the work would have been cheaper to get done myself and garages and Insurers hold the vehicle to ransom, No payment, no vehicle. So I have paid the excess £1050 but I am convinced now that the work completed was
a), not done properly
b) over charged.
What can I do?

Complain to your insurer (regarding the poor work, not the excess)0

Check your terms & conditions and your contract with the insurer - if it doesn't mention a policy of charging more than the excess in there, they shouldn't be charging you more than your excess.0

Excess is correct. Not sure why you think the garage have overcharged is a big issue. Fair enough it's not right but you're not paying, the insurer is and in actual fact if it's a preferred garage of theirs they probably get a big discount.
Regarding the work done, as above, go back and complain to the insurer. They will likely ask for some kind of evidence via photos or an inspection and then take it up with the garage if needs be.0 -

So agree - 3 incidents each have an excess apply.
The work should be to a good standard - complain as suggested.
The excess should be the first £350 of A claim. So sounds like the highest cost item was way over. No argument.
But are you saying that two of them were so minor as to not have cost £350 a piece. If so, you would have been better getting these repaired yourself.
But as you claimed, the full excess will probably be payable per your insurers wording. You need to check your policy to be sure.
That said you would still be technically supposed to notify them of the incidents.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.0
