Amending 'nickname' on Tesco savers

Earlier in the month I set up a DD to my Internet Saver Account. I already had one go out to my Instant Access Account but set up the other as a backup in case I couldn't get a DD to Paypal. We are advised on these boards that the nickname has to be different, so I amended it slightly. Today, whilst making a final check that everything would be OK for this month's interest, I was perturbed to find that the nicknames were the same! So, I again amended the one due to go out on the 30th and, as suspected, it changed the other one too, even though it's a different account. Will Tesco's system only accept a different nickname when you initially add an account?

I still have an account application that is pending/in total limbo from 2015. I have subsequently opened numerous Tesco accounts that work as expected.
