sociology degree with OU?

Hi all

I'm considering studying with the OU and from reading the post concerning this it looks like the way to go! My question though is what to do with it afterwards? I already have a social work diploma but feel like I need something more and a change of direction. Any ideas?

TIA

MM

you cannot do a pure sociology degree with the OU. You need to double check this. You can do a general social sciences degree but not a purely sociology degree.

You could do a social science degree with the OU. The possibilites are there for going into the care sector, old, disabled, or young or maybe into social working in the comminity......

I feel it would be best to discover the field you would like to work in first. then tailor the degree to that rather than picking out a degree and wondering what you can do with it afterwards....

My husband for 10 years worked in the computer industry and did several qualifications to get him along always wondering where the next qualification could lead him until one day he realised he hated the IT industry and had from his teenage years wanted to work in the area of Physics/Astonomy....SO he is now doing the physical science degree with the OU.......
