Update for me - despuite having an easy day (on paper) I've run round like a mad thing and:

    1) done all my clicks
    2) Filled in my maternity grant and allowance papework (no mean feat, there's half a rainforest in that paperwork)
    3) Done a proper budget on the computer and got Direct Debit dates organised
    4) Used some old stamps I had lying around to post all my ebay stuff, this saving myself about a fiver (and have loads left)
    5) Looked at opening a savigs account via quidco to ensure no more extra debt money is frittered away or swalloed by other stuff
    6) put some pizza dough on to make homemade pizza for tea - fun for the kids (we have an xtra one tonight, babysitting for my best mate who starts collge tonight) and uses up veggies.

I have been a mega busy bunny and am chuffed with myself!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500
  • Not looked on the site for a while as been away but now I have, I'm addicted again :). Done a couple of things this afternoon:

1/ Pay day today, and I actually had a little bit of money left over from last months wages. Amazing! Normally there's far too much month left at the end of the money :)
So I have paid the leftover (£50.90) off the balance of my credit card with the highest interest rate.

2/ Had a payrise recently, and today received the first month at my new rate with two months backdated too. Have resolved to pay my regular monthly increase against the same credit card as above and considering using the backdated sum for the same. Howerver have a couple of out of the norm purchases to make this month (eg son's first proper bed!) and so this might go towards that.

3/ Came home for lunch so didn't buy it

4/ Updated my snowball and DFW signature!

Everyone seems to be doing so well, hope it works for me too

  • Afternoon all. Loved Hime's post...I am sure everything will be fine! You sound like one clued up DFW style lady so....don't fret! And don't let EBAY worry you! I was nervous at first but it's really *very* easy. Good luck!

    My DFW things today are:

    * Got a lift home from work

    * Took a small HM lunch to work and didn't buy anything else to eat (I'm ravenous now though.....just devoured 4 hob nobs!)

    * Banked cash from boot sale and also £20 I was keeping back for an appointment on Thursday....figured it's best to put it back in the bank and draw it out Thursday when I get paid.

    * Didn't walk out of job today! But was the closest I have been. I really was this close.

    * Have resisted putting heating on...am snuggled in a big fleecy 'Fox' cardigan instead! (That's a brand...not a dead animal!)

    * Found a photo album upstairs that I can put holiday snaps in - won't have to buy one now! :D

    * Found a great book I had (like new) to give to tombola prize fund at work, no need to buy a gift now.

    * Found 20p!

    * Did QuidCo searches & Pigsback stuff.
Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
    Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010

    - took lunch to work (well, to the course I was on, anyway)

    - rang A&L on a geographical number I got from saynoto0870.com with free mins on mobile to work out why my debit carddidn't work, despite having three new pin nos (I hadn't activated the card, d'oh!)

    - Asked my ex to pay the maintenance into my new A&L bank account, to help with organisation of finances

    - didn't do ironing as planned (therefore saving electricity, geddit? ;) )

    - received three HUGE bags of apples from someone on freecycle - gonna peel and freeze as many as I can then give the rest to pals)

    - off to do piggy and quidco clicks in a min

  • Had a subsidised lunch in the staff canteen (for 97p - no soft drink, but hot water with it), posted 9 parcels which was a mix of Ebay and Readitswapit ones, and had beans on toast for dinner!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
