Credit Score & Bankruptcy

I was discharged from bankruptcy in March 2012 & the entry will drop off my credit file in March this year.

My credit score with Experian is 815 which is 'Fair'

I do have new credit accounts, which I have had for 3 or 4 years now & all are fully up to date/no missed payments etc.

Is my credit score likely to improve once my bankruptcy drops off my files in March?

Thanks

Your credit "score" is a meaningless number generated by the agencies in order to sell you services which they provide to improve the score they also provide.

A lender can see the bankruptcy on the credit record until 6 years after, then it drops off and your record would be clear. If you have been borrowing and paying back in full then you should be fine to get credit in the future.

The score itself has NO RELEVANCE AT ALL in terms of whether a lender will approve you or not so pay no attention to it and cancel any paid for services you have with Experian, they're a waste of money

The fact your score is 815/999 despite the fact you have a bankruptcy within the last 6 years shows how worthless the score is

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Score means nothing. But i think your doing well to have a fair score of 815. Keep up the good work on your new accounts it's not gonna get any worse (provided you don't make loads of new applications etc), and can only get better.
