Gas Usage? 7 to 8 units a day? Seems high comparatively.

Just checked my mums meters (only a small house) and amazed she has only used 80 units in last 8 weeks. We are using 50 to 60 per week & only have heating on 430pm to 10pm with temp set at 17.5deg. Ours seems a lot & quite a bit higher use than same time last year?
Gas also used for showers say 3 in household per day.

Firstly are you comparing like for like, metric or imperial units ? Does she have a more efficient boiler, better insulation, semi/terrace as opposed to detached ?

No there is big difference in house type etc but both have fairly new efficient boilers but she has her heating on all day.Just her 80 units over 8 weeks seems v low.

You can't keep a house warm on 80 units over 8 weeks.
    Your usage seems more normal.

Which is why I suggested imperial units, 4 metric units per day is equivalent to 80 imperial over 8 weeks.

O.P., you need to tell us what units (eg. kWh) you are quoting before anyone can make a sensible comment.

If it is cu ft then that is 46 kWh a day.

I've been using an average of 60 kWh a day for the past 31 days with the heating on from 7:45 to 23:30 in a 3 bed semi, though 11 kWh a day is for hot water and cooking.
over 73 but not over the hill.
