Atlas choice and credit card

Hi

My husband paid for car rental in Italy last year through Atlas Choice. We hired the car and returned home. He has just received an email from the car hire company - Nolegiarre - that Atlas Choice have not paid them and that they are now going to charge us on our credit card directly.

Can anyone please advise us what to do? Can we get our money back from our credit card company? Is it possible to even check if nolegiarre were even paid?

Have you spoken to Atlas Choice?

Did you give them your card details? The issue should be resolved by Atlas Choice if your card is charged simply chargeback

I posted before about being notified out of the blue by a Spanish car hire firm (Solmar) that they were going to charge my card because Atlas hadn't paid them from my Aug 2016 rental. 64 quid hit my account in Dec. I didn't expect any success trying to claim back through my card company (under £100 apart from anything else) and they duly rejected it. I see things have moved on and MSE now has confirmation about Atlas formally in liquidation so people can try entering a claim through the administrators. And to add another twist Solmar emailed to say that although they are within their rights to charge me they have now decided to pursue Atlas direct instead. This didn't stop them charging my card, and I'm yet to see the refund, with another 2 weeks passed by. I will chase them to see if they are planning to honour their supposed promise. I would press your own car rental firm just to see if anything gives there.

You need to check the documentation: If you have not authorised Nolegiarre to charge your card then it's an unauthorised transaction.
