IVA almost done

Options
Hi I'm due to complete my IVA at end of March which will be 6 yrs from date started I can't wait! But having spoken with our IVA ( Varden nuttal) they are saying when final payment has been paid we will then go to completion but this will take 6 months!!!??? They say that they have to go through the accounts but surely this should be done each year when reviewed? There went into administration which we were never told only new when I saw a tiny sticker on letter asking for our yrs accounts!! They also tried to screw me for a years worth of payment! Which I challenged and what a surprise they were Wrong! I'm really worried that they've not done there job right when questioned they try to fob me off which I won't take! we are hoping to get a mortgage for a part rent part buy scheme and worried this will affect us, any one else had issues?

Well done for getting this far.

They need to audit the annual reviews to make sure everything has been paid as agreed. As long as you havent missed any payments and any overtime/extra income has been accounted for and paid you should be ok.

Good luck with your mortgage, I secured a reasonable rate but through a broker when mine finished years ago....you may find that you will need a large deposit though so start saving as soon as you can and let us know how you get on.

It can take a while to wind up the IVA, creditors need to make all there claims etc, fees need finalising, payments distributed, only then will you get the certificate of completion.

Six months sounds about right yes.

  • Thank you I thought that they would have gone through every thing each year when the review is done! I'm still a little concerned as they themselves are in administration!
