Natwest overdraft fee

I check my bank account everyday and 3 times now I have been stumped by going overdrawn, when I checked throughout the day this last time. All was fine I was in credit, I checked again in the evening (after close of business, so I thought) and I was in credit, I check first thing the following day and I am overdrawn for the previous day, alot of transactions have come through between 8pm & 12am. I didn't think this was possible, and because of this I now have a £6 fee on my account. Mentioned to the bank who say it is my fault I read the balance wrong, I said don't think so. I am now taking screen shots to prove what I am seeing.I don't think this is going to be the last time, is this happening to others and is this acceptable banking. Sorry for long post.

  • You mean you didn't know what transactions you'd carried out that hadn't yet reached your account?

    That is your responsibility.

Don't waste your time and start keeping records of your spending instead.

Not all transactions get processed instantly and, generally, retailers have up to 6 months to process them at any instant they want.

Or open a basic account without overdraft facility and related charges.
