i received a parking ticket from g24 for overstaying by 40 minutes. This was in staples car park and as i thought as it was out of store hours the 2 hour free of charge wouldn't apply? Its been 14 days exactly today and I've sent my appeal email just over. (used the templates on here for that) when speaking to citizen advice they told me if my appeal gets rejected by here and then POPLA i should then pay up. confused on what to do? HELP!!

they were wrong
G24 wont issue a popla code because they are IPC members , not BPA members
and you do not have to pay unless a judge says so
just follow the advice in the NEWBIES thread for IPC members
its appeal once , to G24
then IGNORE for 6 years unless you get an LBC or an MCOL in the post (ignore any debt collector letters)
ideally you get a landholder cancellation , which is your BEST OPTION here
otherwise its 6 years of hassle
and no its not alright to park on private land without permission0 -
they will hassle me for 6 years? will this effect my credit rating as if so I'm not sure if its worth the hassle and i may pay up. also is it likely for them to take me to court.0

its unlikely that G24 will go to court but anyone can take anyone to the small claims court , for any reason , including unpaid invoices. like you see on RINDER daily on ITV
even if you lost in court , as long as you respect the judge`s judgment and pay it within the required period (usually within 28 days) the matters is deemed "satisfied" and no CCJ is issued and so no effect on credit rating
until that happens , no effect on creedit rating
pay it in full and no effect on credit rating
its the people who are in "contempt of court" by not paying the judgment that fall foul of a CCJ , hence their credit rating is trashed
any sane person would pay it and move on , no CCJ , no issues over their credit rating
this 6 year rule has been in force since 1973 for England and Wales (5 in Scotland)
same applies if you owe a plumber for fixing your boiler , its nothing to do with car parking as such0 -
thank you so much! what would be your best suggestion to me I'm new to driving, from now to just ignore them? or to just pay up before the 28 days.0

its not my job (or anyones job) to tell you what to do , as an adult who drives you must make an informed choice when presented with all the facts
personally , if I dont agree with a sc@mmers invoice I would not pay it on their say so , but I would pay it if I were to present my defence to a court and lost in court regardless
there are many legal reasons why they may not be able to win a court case, so I would not just hand over my money on their say so
if they want my money , they would have to fight tooth and nail for it , plus I would cost them more money than what they are claiming I owe
and its nothing to do with driving , its about parking a vehicle on private property without the owners consent , effectively , trespassing !!
so as I have given you all the facts , its now your decision to make0
