Rafflecopters...

Hiya

I returned to comping after a long hiatus! I was just googling my name and clicked on rafflecopters I had entered. They had all ended but some showed who the winner was... the vast majority just said it had ended. Does this mean the blogger hasn't drawn it yet? I presumed it was automatic by the app but maybe not. The skeptic in me says maybe some are never drawn and all...:o

Name in the rafflecopter means it's been selected by RC and more likely a random draw.
If the winner has been selected by other means (which might be random) it should not be displayed in the RC

Ah right. I may avoid some of the social media ones then as I suspect bloggers look after each other if they are manually choosing winners

In order for your winners to be displayed on the widget, they’ll have to be chosen randomly through the ‘add a random winner’ button

Even then entries can be disqualified and new winners selected.

Rafflecopters can be time consuming, and I do think a lot of them may be done in an unfair way but saying that most of my wins come from rafflecopter competitions so they are worth doing in my opinion

Yeah I guess. I don't use Facebook though. Only to 'view' pages. I do tweet and follow but my twitter is clearly a comping one so I suspect that doesn't help. I've actually noticed that I've followed someone on a rafflecopter, and then been removed a follower? Very odd. Are gleam completely random or is it same applies?

I dont tend to share on facebook, I never do all the entries. my twitter is full of comps aswel, I definitely think that does make a difference and think some comp runners avoid compers. I've been removed as a follower too and I think thats because they have seen all the competitions entered, it's not fair really.

I preferred it before social media took over. I'm not sure about gleam, I don't think i've ever won a gleam comp but i've won about 5 rafflecopter prizes this month... I do enter a lot though as I have kids and thats what a lot of the prizes are aimed at (I think they probably get less entries due to not everyone having kids)

Yeah I've noticed the social media overload! I was a serious competition back in 2012 and won loads. Haven't won yet so far though. I used to do the ctw but there's hundreds now. They must take hours

It has definitely changed, I probably enter more than i used to and win a quarter of what I used to. I blame social media, it can often make things unfair I think. So many smaller prizes now too. I don't do c2w anymore either it's just impossible these days.

I'm a blogger who runs Rafflecopter competitions sometimes, and the app allows you to choose whether or not you display the winner's name. I only ever draw my winners randomly through the app, and it still gives you this option, so it may have been drawn but the winner hasn't yet responded/the blogger forgot to hit that checkbox/the winner didn't want their name publicised for whatever reason. Hope this helps :)
