Landlord asking for meter readings

We re paying £110 a year approx for climate change subsidies, £60 a year to cover energy theft, another £60 a year lost to bad debtors and god knows what else trying to sort out the mess of unresolved billing problems along with an Ombudsmans office trying to sort them out. A smart meter installed starts to cut costs for suppliers straightaway and maybe for occupiers as well if they take a bit of notice of the IHD
Any SMETS1 meter will be replaced by SMETS2 (if a customer demands loudly enough) when they become available sometime this year but in the normal course of events it could easily be many years until a customer gets a letter asking to fit a SMETS2 which some plonkers will go and refuse anyway.
Advice on here against the superior meters is just spreading the word needlessly that a smart meter is the devil, they go and tell their mates and word gets round that a smart meter is a spy in the house. Advisors should show a little civic responsibility IMO.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

You re like a bunch of "remoaners " still harping on about Brexit.Smarts are coming big time, why can t you all except the future superior devices with good grace . They are absolutely pouring in throughout the UKs population nowadays and the miniscule amount of forum moaning will not change them.Eventually the whole country will have the superior devices. I m an insider looking at meters all day every day and smarts are fast becoming the most common meter at least for BG..All operating fine, in smart mode, and everyone likes them. Reading the stuff on here is laughable from some of you lot, you re getting more and more rabid in the ridiculous anti smart fight you can t win.
Most people out there do not change supplier and even if the new smart becomes dumb if they move away ( that will be rare ) the majority will stay with the devil they know, so please stop giving out duff advice, it could be years and years before anyone sees a SMETS2 so advice against a SMETS1 is denying them a much superior fit and forget meter.
Because they are not smart enough yet, and a lot lose those abilities when you change supplier At the moment it is the favoured method of the energy supplier to tie you to them.
In 20/30 years time it might be worth it, but progress is way too slow at the moment. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
