Hi,
I wonder if anyone could give me a bit of advice as how to proceed.
I had a vinyl and carpet fitted before Christmas. After the fitter had finished and was paid we tidied up as he hadnt and on completion and hoovering the carpet noticed marks and waves on the vinyl and pulled threads on the carpet. The carpet has continued to have threads pulled when hoovering. I contacted the shop by email as they were not returning my call and also emailed their customer service department. They finally got back to me after the New Year. I asked for a refund as i was not happy with the quality of the carpet or the state the vinyl had been left in. The manager of the store i purchased the carpets from stated i was not entitled to a refund and could only have replacements. I was told this would take 7 days. After 7 days came and went i emailed the customer services department on 3 occasions when eventually 2 weeks later the manager got back to me. I again asked for a refund and pointed out the carpet had more pulls. He said i could not have a refund as i had agreed to replacements. I pointed out i initially asked for a refund and he had told me i was not entitled. I have refused the replacements as i have found their service to be shocking.
I paid for the vinyl and carpet by credit card and the fitter by credit card.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
