Fitting New kitchen before selling?

Yes, probably. DIY with B&Q or IKEA units, don't replace the appliances, and you can probably do a kitchen for about £3k. (That's what it cost me when I did mine. For personal use though, not as prep for a sale.)
I've done a few kitchens using Ikea, and I don't think I've spent more than £700 excluding appliances.
Obviously, it depends on the size. And that figure doesn't include tiling, flooring, redecs, etc, but the poster said they had done a lot of that already. (It's an odd order to do it in.)No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
We shall be moving from our 80's house. Should we renew the work surface and paint the doors? We know the kitchen will be ripped out because that is what they do with houses near us, even those with kitchens that were renewed before sale.
Same with the carpet? Which is still in very good condition after 30 years (top notch Axminster!)
Axminster will come back into fashion one day, but it doesn't help a sale at the moment.
Do you have a photo of the current kitchen? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Unless anyone knows how to add photos?????0 -
A little late to the party, but I bought 4 months ago. Everything in the house has been re-done in the last 2 years except the kitchen - 80s and showing it! I'm glad the kitchen hadn't been done as I will soon be putting in the kitchen I want and won't feel at all bad ripping out the old one. Will also be ripping out a bathroom which is cheap but nicely and recently done, in a way that seems a bit of a waste. As others have said a new kitchen for the purposes of saleability or to the taste of the previous owners would be unlikey to appeal or fit my wants.0

Yep - it does need to go doesnt it?
Too dark. Wall paper is impractical in a kitchen (I had to rip some out of mine - and that got done a while back now).
You obviously need a lot more storage space. In my kitchen I'm picking light wood units. In yours - I'd be thinking "light/light/light" and picking white or cream ones. That would be partly because I'd possibly plan on having the wall units extending literally right up to ceiling height (to get in as much storage space as possible) and wouldnt want it feeling oppressive.
*************
So from your pov - ie re selling - I'd just do a quick basic/cheap tart-up of ripping the wallpaper off the walls and painting in a light colour. Maybe it's possible to do a quick paint job on the units - as they are very dark and overwhelming at present. Obviously - clear everything possible off work surfaces when showing viewers. See if you can get the kitchen at least looking light/bright and cute small (rather than "Ooh heck - offputting").0 -
This is a picture of a quarter of the kitchen, and the wallpaper is tiles!!!!
I KNOW IT WILL BE RIPPED OUT WHEN I SELL.
I think I will paint the cupboard doors and replace the worksurface, but the tiles stay.0
