Hi,

I work in a regus building and they sell some of the closer parking spaces to companies willing to pay the extra (what a waste of money)

People keep parking in the now reserved spaces, they have now threatened to add a £50 fine. Anyone that parks their car in the reserved, paid for space, will be fined a £50 fee, which will be added to their/ their employer monthly invoice

So are they allowed to do that? not really sure but it has bugged me haha.

Thanks in advance

  • And how are Regus going to know which company a car's driver is working for?

If this is private land, then nobody can fine anyone else.

The landowner can get the keeper's details from the DVLA by sending off a form and then take them to court for trespass. If they are successful and assuming no damage was caused, they should be able to get about £1 from each keeper per occurrence.
Or they can bring in a parking scammer that belongs to a trade association that allows them (the parking company) to get keeper details from the DVLA. A !!!! storm will then follow.

If people keep parking there where they have been asked not to they really are being arrogant idiots, the next step will be a PPC that comes along offering to enforce permit controlled parking for free to the landowner.

The real fun will then begin be warned!
