EDF Warm Home Discount

Hi all
My mum has just told me that EDF Energy charged her £140 on top of her latest bill instead of crediting it to her for the government's Warm Home Discount.

If she hadn't had realised she would have been £140 out-of-pocket.

Any other EDF customers on here been victim of the same thing?

Your Mum will not have been charged £140 extra. The £140 rebate will appear on page 2 of the bill, under the 'recent account activity' section, if you then look below where the charges are it will show the total charges for the period of the bill then below that the VAT on those charges, so for example £200 charges, + 5% VAT = £210. If you then look at the total charges for the period it will then say £70 in the above scenario. It comes off the charges at the end however at first glance it will appear that it has been added, when in fact it has been deducted. Please do check this bill as it is very unlikely incorrect, just a confusing layout.

Not sure on the circumstances but EDF sent a letter of apology and credited her a goodwill gesture for the 'mistake'.
