  • I've quoted the legislation to them. To be fair this is my last line of defence, I think I've got plenty of other arguments.
I checked some other things today. Millennium are members of IPC (joined Nov 2015 - the parking event was on 31 Oct 2015 so just before). Before that they were members of BPA. The signage they claim was displayed on 31.10.15 has on it the logos for both IPC and BPA which indicates it is not the correct signage in place at the time (at that date they had nothing to do with IPC). Their website also contains both logos and claims that they are IPC members and "accredited" by BPA. I've emailed BPA today to ask if it is possible to be accredited without being a member and what this actually means and if Millennium is accredited as they claim. I wonder if they are not authorised to use the BPA logo. There is nothing on BPA's website that indicates that an organisation can be accredited by them.
Does anyone have any insight into this?

I agree...I thought they could only be 'corporate members' or 'AOS members' and only the latter means they could use the word 'accredited'.

I do like your rottweiler mentality with this! You and Lamilad are great additions to this forum recently.

  • I think it is my new obsession!
What's the difference between being a member of the organisation itself and of the AOS? Can you just be a member of BPA without bring a member of its AOS (and vice versa)? I'm not sure how they tie together.

Yes you can be a member without being in the AOS.

  • So I suppose the question is can you be in the AOS without being a member. I'll post the reply from BPA when I get it.

  • Another question on this topic. The landowner contract says they have to be in the AOS and operate within it. Does the IPC have an AOS or just the BPA?

    basicly the ATA signage:

roundels (circles with writing in them ) is an ATA membership

oblongs or long squares saying BPA or IPC are corporate members

    this sign , at random

roundel for IPC oblong for BPA corporate

Ironically that's a Millennium sign although it's slightly different from the one in this case.
My brain is a bit full. Can I be thick and ask what ATA is? The IPC/BPA logos are the same as on this sign. What's the difference between ATA and Corporate membership? And how can they be members of both? BPA list of members doesn't mention Millennium so how can they still be displaying the BPA logo as if they are members?
Is all of this a red herring? My focus on the logos started when I twigged that they are relying on a sign that says they are IPA accredited when at the time they weren't. And then my mind wandered. If it is a red herring I will move on!
