I have already enjoyed a (veggie) haggis pizza this year. White sauce as a base, veggie haggis crumbled on top with some sticky red onions. I just used Macsweens from a packet - I did attempt to make it a few years ago but found it was a bit too much effort for me.
On special in Sainsbury's at the moment, £2.25 for either the veggie or traditional version.0 -
Someone once bought us haggis from a visit to Scotland.
I don't know if he'd bought the cheapest he could find but it was awful!
I wouldn't touch the stuff again.
It's not the idea of haggis - I eat liver, kidneys, black pudding, beef suet - it was the taste.

We had some haggis from www.macbeths.com excellent as usual. Kept it simple, with leeks and a pot of Slimming World colcannon from Iceland, 2.500

My 6'5" thin as a rake son used to frequent a takeaway in Aberdeen while at Agricultural College. A lunchtime favourite with the students was Stovies or Haggis. The Stovies also came with Skirlie and pickled Beetroot ( this seems to be a real Aberdonian thing serving pickled Beetroot with Stovies) As I knew he wasn't a Beetroot fan I asked him what he had instead. Chips was the answer! Certainly not afraid of Carbs!We are fans of Cockburn's Haggis and not just on the 25th of January but all year round. We grow our own Neeps (swedes) so have a ready supply in the winter months. My mother was from Glasgow and she always referred to a white pudding as a "mealy Jimmy". She cooked hers in with the mince in it's skin. My maternal granny was from Caithness and she also called it a "mealy Jimmy" but maybe she picked the term up in Glasgow. I stuff large tomatoes with Haggis or Skirlie when we aren't in neep season and chicken breasts stuffed with Haggis and wrapped in bacon and then baked are super tasty. We also like baked sliced haggis with a poached egg on top. I bought a tin of Haggis while working in Australia as I was having withdrawal symptoms. I would not recommend tinned haggis!2

@button_box As an Aberdonian I have never had skirlie with stovies in my life but definitely beetroot and oatcakes
Never tried tinned haggis but would imagine it would be on a par with tinned cod roe
Mealy pudding here never heard it called mealy Jimmy but agree with cook it in the mince1
