Do I need a bespoke front door?

I'm looking to get a new front door. I've never had a door fitted before and know very little about the subject.
The existing door measures 1995 x 805 mm. The closest standard size to that appears to be 2032 x 813 mm.
I'm thinking of getting a timber door rather than composite or uPVC. It's not clear to me if a standard-sized door could be made to fit, or if the frame would be adjusted to fit the slightly bigger door (from older threads that I have found, it seems that it is best to fit a new frame at the same time?), or if I will need a custom-made door.
I could just get an all-in-one door company to do the whole thing, but I was thinking of buying the door (and frame?) myself and hiring a local joiner to install it.

It's fine. A timber door can be cut/planed to fit as you say, or the frame sometimes altered. It's not too far off.
If you're not confident, ask the joiner to buy it or agree beforehand that your choice is suitable.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

If the OP is getting someone in to do the fitting, in his place, I'd also get them to source/supply. That way, if it doesn't fit, it is down to the fitter to put it right.
The other option if the door frame is too large for the opening (and I had to do this with a steel security door), is a cut the bricks back with a diamond saw. Messy, put doable if it is only 10mm or so that needs taking out.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

OK. It's just that I've looked at a couple of suppliers' sites, and they say things like "our doors come with maximum 12 mm trimming potential" (on each edge), which strictly speaking would not be enough to get a 2032 mm door down to 1995 mm."Einstein never said most of the things attributed to him" - Mark Twain0 -
Magnet sell doors too. At least 3 different 'standard' widths internally, and I am sure outside doors will be the same.
In comparison to B&Q, magnet ready made doors, these were quite expensive http://www.todd-doors.co.uk, but had the goods.
The sides are easier to trim than than ends
