Hi
I appealed against my parking charge from UKPC as they put the incorrect registration number on the ticket, I appealed saying this was their error and should void/cancel the ticket, they rejected this saying they have re issued to the correct reg & gave me another reference number, on the ticket it said I could pay a reduced rate £50 for quick payment, this was put on hold while I appealed, the appeal letter now states the reduced rate is £60? I'm rather confused and don't know wether to appeal to popla & risk the charge rising to £100. Do I have a case with them recording the wrong reg? And if not what do I do about the discrepancy in the price?

Read up in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum on how to go about making a popla appeal.
You will find "near" templates and links to other successful appeals. With plenty of appeal points to consider using
But their admin error wasn't much of an appeal if that's all you had!0 -

Here is the question, if they put the wrong number on the ticket, one assumes you gave them correct number.
It has been known for PPC's to do this and wait for the keeper to contact them and then the entrapment starts.
Did you say you were driving ???
UKPC are known to fake pictures for entrapment until they were caught out.0 -
You have already fallen into one of their elephnant traps, watch out for more.
This is your opponent
UKPC are former clampers who have been involved in quite a number of sordid scams, for example
Hull Trading Standards took them to court on 15 counts of fraud. UKPC won all but one, but only because they had a better lawyer, a Q.C. If I recall correctly
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=63597
They were bested by a Winchester barrister
http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?377246-UKPC-liable-for-trespass-**SUCCESS**
They were involved in a large scale scam which resulted in a DVLA suspension

And then of course there was Tracey Kiss

I did indeed correct them and gave them my correct reg, as UKPC was on the list of registered private car parking company's I thought they would have the right to contact the DVLA anyway, but this was just a presumption as I was in the dark about what to do? I can't remember if I said I was driving or not? How would this influence things?0
-
they always want to know the drivers details because then it does away with various legal protections like POFA2012 and your "right to silence"
it is tohught they use false info to provoke people into admissions or to appealing too early , usually in a rage
this doesnt mean the case is hopeless , but there are less legal arguments for admitted drivers than those who stay silent or refute being the driver, or who hide behind POFA20120 -

Did you choose 'driver' if you used their online appeal page? Hope not, this could have been done much better but we will assist if you read the POPLA templates in post #3 of the NEWBIES thread and put together a draft POPLA appeal (not written by you from scratch about the story of what happened, use the templates instead).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And what about the increase from £50 to £60 for early payment? Why has this increased?0
-
they only have to offer a reduced rate by 40% if you check the BPA CoP
so they can offer any reduced rate they like at any time as long as its at least 40%
this is an unregulated industry , so the change in the reduced rate is of little significance or importance in the greater scheme of things
the true rate is £100 , with discounts applied as and when , but should always be in line with the BPA CoP
sometimes these companies will offer a reduced rate of £10 , according to circumstances
remember , its an invoice , nothing more0
