Make up a solution of 1 part alcohol, 2 parts water. Put in a glass. Add ice. Drink. Taking care not to wave glass cheerily at passing police car.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Tomato soup works a treat. Just pour it all over. Trust me you'll never go back to using de iced or a scraper again.0

i used to use a kettle but would pour it really slowly rather than chuck it on - i was too mean to buy sprays and too lazy to scrape0

Speaking as a menopausal woman, spending a few minutes in the lovely cold, fresh air while scraping my windscreen, is one of the highlights of my day!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0

This stuff works quite well:
http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/screenwash-de-icer/halfords-night-before-de-icer-500ml
Spray on when you leave your car at night. Takes less than a minute. In the morning, any ice that has tried to form on your windows just becomes slush. Turn key, wiper on and it washes the slush away in one quick wipe.0 -
