*Minor Car Accident* My fault - Advice?

Hi people,
I have never had an accident before so was unsure what to do.
I rolled into a new Mercedes last week leaving a fairly minor scratch, no internal damage to bumper as this has been verified already. Most of the damage was to my car so i have already sorted that out.
The other driver wants to sort this outside insurance as he said it will keep my premium down which i accepted (being 23 my insurance is still pretty high) Seeing as i informed my insurance of the incident is the damage already done to how my premium will be calculated at renewal?
Wouldn't it be safer just to let him claim on my insurance as then reimburse them so that i can keep my NCB? My worry is that i will pay for repair and then something else will come up or he will claim a physical injury occurred at which point i wont be able to afford it..
Also does my voluntary and mandatory excess come into play here?

Check your policy but nearly all only make you pay your excess when you have a claim for damage to your own car.
The insurance "damage" is already done now you reported this to them
You normally are able to get any lost NCD reinstated by reimbursing your insurer their outlay.
Tell the third party you want to leave this with the insurers to deal with.0 -
Just use your insurance; that's what you've got it for. I can't imagine any sort of repair to a new Mercedes being cheap.0

I do however reserve the right to be correct by accident.0 -
Cheers guys after thinking about it all day i came to the same conclusions. I will reimburse my insurer to keep my NCB my insurance still spikes and don't think i will be able to pay monthly anymore but at least i know i am safe from any hidden costs.
@EdGasket he has quoted me £150 as it is a tiny scratch no dents0
