Amazon vent and praise!

I ordered an electrical kitchen gadget from Amazon which arrived yesterday. This morning I opened the box to set it up, found that there was a draft of a handwritten letter on the guarantee sheet, then none of the components were wrapped although the bags were all stuffed in the box. No covering on the end of the plug, no ties round the cable and one large component had clearly been used and then washed badly! It had obviously been used and returned.
I arranged a call with A's customer service and the chap was extremely helpful and apologetic, immediately ordered a new gadget and offered a courier collection for the first one. I substituted me taking to the local post office so a return label was emailed.
A great response to a strange problem. So I'm both angry and happy with them. :T

They do good reductions on returned ' used' items, so you could have negotiated a price , if you thought the item was acceptable. Their 'used' term covers items which have been returned without contents being removed from the box or those with packaging slightly damaged in the warehouse.0

Didn't know that, so thanks.
I wouldn't have wanted that option though it's good to know it exists.0 -

I bought a 'used' Panasonic phone duo, listed as like new and the contents of the box were untouched.
An electric mincer/shredder was listed as 'used', box damaged, but on opening (the seal was intact) the plastic hopper was cracked. Amazon gave me extra reduction, equivalent to a little more than the cost of getting a replacement from the manufacturer.0 -

Replacement gadget arrived today - all parts still wrapped up, clean / unused / new. All is well again.0
