 The electric usage of a electric shower left on standby?

Ie if you forget to pull the cord and leave the light one, some said it uses 90%

It uses about 0.01% So if you leave it on 24/7 it will use about 6 pence a year.

An electric shower uses anywhere between 7.5kW and 11.5kW(that is 7,500 watts to 11,500watts). I doubt if your light uses 0.1watts.

Put it another way 90% of a shower's consumption is the equivalent of 7 to 10 one bar electric fires. If the shower wasn't running where do you think all that heat would go?

Part of the expense of making electric showers is to get them to switch off if the water supply gets interupted; otherwise your shower would literally melt.

Thank goodness for that! PHEW!! :T I was having kittens after reading OP as my switch is permanently left on due to it refusing to react to being pulled into off position.....Clunks instead of clicks and just won't budge (have to get it seen to though, waiting for something else that needs doing as don't fancy calling out electrician to be charged £30-£40 quid just to fix that one little problem do I? especially as I'm always trying so hard to be a diligent full-time MSv'r!;)

Would push ya thanks button twice if I could cardew! Ta Luv :D x
