Anybody used Autoreisen car hire?
Have been told by a few people that when you pick the car up (after you have booked on internet) they say excess is 2000 euros and if you pay 60 euros thay drop it down to 250 euros
A crafty way of making more money from you
Any experiences?
thanks

Thanks for that, was that in Lanzarote? but thinking about it it shouldn't make any difference where it's hired from, Autoreisen policy should be the same worldwide0

I have used Autoreisen a lot of times, 3 in Tenerife, 2 in Lanzarote, and once in Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. The last was on Dec/2007 in Tenerife.
There is no excess, the price on the web includes Damage excess waiver. The easiest way to book is on the web https://www.autoreisen.es ( look no ".com" but ".es" for Spain )
I have never had a problem with them, and usually get a better vehicle than the one I requested.
Once I had an accident, they gave me another vehicle and they even helped me fill the papers.0 -
Hi, I am Rafael, from Autoreisen.
There is no excess in the insurance. This is why we don't offer a Damage excess Waiver (DEW)... there is nothing to waive. In most other companies this means an additional £15 to £20 a week.
In the first page of the website (http://www.autoreisen.es/ingles/tenerife_car_hire.php) says:
Our prices include:
- Taxes.
- No excess insurances.
- Unlimited mileage.
- Free Cancellation Policy.
- Free Child seats.
