Praise for Boots CS

Having looked at Boots sale items, I logged in to see how many points I had on my Advantage card, as last time I did not have enough to by any item I wanted outright (you can't add cash to a points purchase).
It came up as having no points, but I thought that could be because of no recent purchases, so called CS.
The young man told me that the points (over £16 worth) had lapsed, but kindly looked up old details, found my purchases and reinstated the points (which I've now spent).

I didn't realise they did lapse. Great work for reinstating, but makes you wonder how many people have lost points without knowing about it.0

There is nothing on the website to say they have an expiry date.
I am going to send them an email to see if I have any about to expire.0 -

Yes I just found that online.
It would seem that they do not actually expire as such, unlike Tesco but only if you have not used your card in that time.0 -

Log on or open an online account and insert your card number.
I hadn't realised that they had an expiry date either, especially as you have to save up for an item, as you can't make up the value in cash.0 -
I had a reply from Boots
"Thanks for contacting us about your Boots Advantage Card.
As stated in our Terms & Conditions, we will remove points from any accounts which remain unused for 2 years. This means that your Boots Advantage Card hasn’t been used to either collect points through a transaction or to redeem points within those 2 years. I can confirm that your Advantage Card was last used on 04.05.2016, this meaning that if your card is not used by May next year your points will expire".
So you only have to make sure you use your card once every two years to keep your points.0 -

Yes I have an online account.
When I first read this thread I thought they expired after two years but I am relieved to hear that is only if you do not use your card in that time.

So it's only if you don't use your card at all, rather than if you don't use your points? I use my card every few months, but I haven't spent any points from it in several years now, since I don't think to when I'm mostly picking up shampoo etc.Mortgage
June 2016: £93,295
September 2021: £66,4900 -
I think it's only if you don't use the card, as they assume the account is dead, but, as in my case (card not used), they do have your purchase records from way back.0
