Car Claim Phone Phishing – be warned: Accident Claim Expert / ICS / Intelligent Clai
I had a ‘Phishing’ call from an unknown company. Almost immediately I asked them to remove me from their contact list as it sounded like a typical cold call.
I hesitated when they said they didn’t understand, as there was a ‘Category C Payment’ the insurer was to pay us for a no-fault-claim. (of which I have had one but was not expecting any money back). They said if they didn’t arrange the payment then it would return to the insurer.
I asked them a few questions:
What was the car registration? “that information is not available to us”
What was the date of the incident? “that information is not available to us but in the last 24 months”
What is the amount the insurer will be paying? “between £1,000 and £3,500”
What is the name of the insurer? “that information is not available to us”
Sounds like he’s fishing. I asked further questions:
What is your name: “Ralf Emerson”
What is your position: “Category C Advisor”
What is the name of the Company: “ICS”
What is the website: “Actually the company is Accident Claim Expert”
So what is ICS: “The Liverpool Branch”
What does ICS Stand for: “Intelligent Claims Solutions”
What is the telephone number for your office: 07438 149 312
But that’s a mobile number, what is the office landline: “It changed recently”, then “ we don’t have one” .
In fact the number that showed up on my mobile was 0161 814 7892
So I summarised saying that other than my name and telephone number he didn’t know when I had an incident, in what vehicle, the name of the insurance company who wanted to pay me money or for how much I was to be paid.
I reiterated my point that I would like to be removed from their contact list.
He said he was too busy and had many other calls he could make if I did not want to receive my payment.
I called the mobile number he had provided was answered by Lewis Howard of ICS who asked me how I had his number. If he reads this post, he will know.

It'n not a phishing call but a nuisance call. I get loads myself. Perhaps we should all call that mobile number and ask him if he's had an accident in the last 3 years??0 -
Cool story bro.0

It's just a normal nuisance call. I managed to keep talking to them for nearly thirty mins going round and round with my answers, which were all made up, as I had nothing better to do that day.0

Please resist the urge to register your interest with Ambulance Chasers and PPI reclaimers by requesting a call back on this mobile number0
