  • Can see why you need a car without a licence.
  • Is it your friend that has the provisional license? If so I wouldn't have thought any lease company would touch them.

Yes,he has the provisional licence,a good credit rating and retired .Whereas I have a full licence, employed but have a bad credit rating.

Can't the other person just be a guarantor for you?

There are ways that a friend can become a foe...

A father being a guarantor for offspring is one thing, doing it for friends is a recipe for disaster and arguments. What has led to you getting a bad credit rating? If there is any chance where you'd miss payments (even through no fault of your own), in your position, I would be mortified, and would not enter into something like this.

This may be a dumb question, as I've no experience of leasing, but do the leasing companies even check (or care) that the customer has a licence?

Would you lend your car to someone that didnt have a licence?

If they dont have a licence how will they insure it? They must be thinking who is the car actually for and why dont they apply themselves?

Who is the provisional holder the OP or his friend?
