UKPC Parking Charge Court Action Help!

Options
Hi guys,

I received a UKPC ticket in November 2016 in a hospital car park, it took 30 minutes agter queing and is spaces are always gold dust... Anyway, I finally found a space and parked, after coming back an hour later I had the parking notice. After checking I was parked in a consultants only space which is mixed with regular parking spots, then after checking the space there was a sign with a P logo and consultants only text next to it, but in the space I was parked in, half of the sign was hidden behind a bush so didn't see the sign in my rush to park.

After talking to someone I was told to just ingore the letters that came in the post as it's not a lawful ticket. Today I received a ticket that's gone from £30 to £120 and if I don't pay they will 'suggest to the client' they take me to court. What should I do now? after looking at some stickies should I go to popla or am I too late of a stage to do that now?

Thanks for any advice in advance.

I'm unable to post an image as I'm a new user...

You obviously have a Silly debt collectors letter is it from Debt Recovery Plus by any chance?

If so you have missed the POPLA stage and can only wait and see what happens, though a chat with PALS pointing out the rubbish signage would be a route to take in the meantime.

PPC's are devious Muppets and hiding signage, doctoring photos etc is normal practice to extort money, along with engaging debt collectors to send worthless scary letters out.

You should not have ignored in the first place unfortunately, though PPC's run close to the wind they can send you an invoice and that's what you have, it's not unlawful as such, and no one on here would advise paying anyone.

No need for thread about debt collectors:

Come back if you get a claim and we will assist with your defence wording. What a shame you didn't appeal it in time for POPLA, as advised in the NEWBIES thread. You had two windows of opportunity to appeal this, at PCN stage then at first letter stage and you missed them both. What a waste of time, do tell the daft person who told you to ignore this that UKPC do sue people these days, sometimes.

So now ignore the rubbish threatograms and come back if you get a solicitor's letter or claim.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
