1st family holiday in spain . Any suggestions please

Hi,
We are looking to book a family holiday to spain in May this year and have no idea where to go. Been on tripadvisor for hours and still undecided. Some places like Playa de las americas seem ideal & state facilities include water park, etc . But does anyone know if these are like UK holiday parks like Haven , etc where entertainment is included in the price??I'm travelling with OH and 8 & 2 year old
Can anyone recommend a family friendly place in Spain please .
We ar looking for some entertainment for kids that would keep them occepied too.
TIA

Castell Montgri @ L'Estartit (Costa Brava) is like a Haven style holiday park. Lots going on.
https://www.Lifestyleholidays.co.uk among others, do mobile homes here

L'Estartit is a nice family resort with a lovely beach too.
Fly into Girona or Barcelona airports

PDLA is a town, in Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. The water park I'm guessing is Siam Park, which isn't included in the price of a holiday, unless specifically stated.

Perhaps have a look at First Choice holidays, some of which come with a water park for exclusive use of guests to specific hotels and they are usually all inclusive (but please read what this means, as it can vary from hotel to hotel and provider to provider).

Most hotels have "animacion" teams, who provide daytime and evening entertainment for adults and children. I'd suggest you look for a hotel that specialises in families if you specifically want an entertainment based hotel.

But no, holidays abroad aren't like crap Haven holidays in a shabby static caravan. There's always the beach.
  • I think Salou would suit you. Fly to Barcelona or Reus. There are plenty of hotels with family entertainment and a couple with waterparks, but I don't remember which ones.

Salou has a lovely beach and promenade,- ideal for young children.

I'd second Salou but In May, the weather is variable, not so much rain but temperature. Portaventura is amazing but expensive. There is the Caribe water park, part of Portaventura complex and usually open from mid-late May, Aquapolis in the neighbouring town of La Pineda and I think there is another water/safari park called Aqua Leon, but I've never been there. . There are some Haven style holiday camps in Cambriles, another nice town near Salou.

PDLA is more like Benidorm and might not be the best family destination but Siam park is probably the best water park in Europe and there is a bus serving most of Tenerife.. There is also at least one other smaller water park in Tenerife. As other people have mentioned, First Choice, their Holiday Villages are great but expensive. The Holiday Village in Tenerife was brilliant except for location

Salou is fab ! H10 Mediterranean village is great for the kids. The food is great and entertainment and you can get the bus right outside the hotel to the waterpark and theme park.

Cannot recommend this hotel enough we all loved it

We often went to the Costa Blanca at Easter and always had lovely weather but I suppose it depends how hot you like it. I certainly wouldn't go in August, quite apart from the cost, everywhere will be packed and it will be very hot, probably too hot for a two year old.

Thanks jackieboy. Agree with you. We are not looking for very hot weather as it would be exhausting for kids.May be around 18 degree or so kind off pleasant weather and not too hot.So might give it a chance in May and see how it goes.

I went in May before and found the weather to be ideal. It certainly won't be bad.
