New collective - worth a punt?

I assume I'm allowed to ask about this lot? https://thisismoneyswitch.co.uk/ ("powered by energyhelpline" whoever they are). With only 553 registered members at time of posting I guess expectations aren't high. Winners announce date is 14th Feb which is convenient for those whose existing fixes end this Spring.
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

Looks interesting. I signed up since I'm not exactly signing my life away and I get final approval if I want to switch.

EHL are fine - they actually beat MSE's Collective Switch 2 weeks after their's last February.
There are a whole bunch of white labelled EHL powered ones open at the moment, and they're basically all the same collective underneath.0 -
I've just read about that. I didn't know about it, so thanks for posting.
My current fix planned has ended so I'm in the process of switching electricity supplier. I've been thinking about moving to another fix rate (no exit fee). I'll be paying £2 more a month compared to the cheapest plan available for me, which include £30 exit fee. So I'm hoping something good will come up in the next few months, from this Collective Switch, to justify another free switch.
I don't how good this Collective Switching was in previous years, so not sure what to expect. If anyone had any experience from previous years, please let us know...0 -

A previous EHL switch in late 2016 was I think with EDF and it would have cost me over £100 more than my December 2016 switch.0 -
Hi all
A quick update on MSE's collective plans. Our Cheap Energy Club mailbox has been swamped with questions on this (especially from those whose current collective deal's up soon).
We're trying really hard but with energy prices rising rapidly, it's tough to get providers to play ball. By next week's email we'll either have a deal, or if not, tell you the best thing to do.
I hope that helps.0 -
Yes, difficult decision...
1. go with Iresa (lowest cost, high risk, no penalty, 12 month fix) or
2. ScottishPower (bit more expensive, low risk, penalty, £30 cashback, longer fix to end March 18); or
3. wait until MSE news next week or
4. wait until energyhelpline collective result on 14th February...If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -

Would the best thing not be for people not to wait and follow the advice in this existing MSE article now?
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/you-switch-gas-electricity
If they were to switch today, and an even better offer comes up (collective tariff or otherwise) in the next 14 days, then they can always cancel the original switch under the 14 day cooling off period?
The advantage of doing this is that they won't miss out on tariffs that are available today, but could well not be any longer available come MSE's announcement in a week's time.
Of course, if MSE'ers have signed up to the MSE CEC
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cheapenergyclub
(or similar service operated by others) they should be being kept alerted to possibly better deals as and when they become available
(excluding collective tariffs unless they are being offered through that service), subject to any alert limits the user has opted to set.0
