problem i didn't have on previous dell latop but always happens on my new Tosh . ... on XP.
i start up computer .
i click and log on my aol account .
i use their browser .. etc etc .. everything is fine.
HOWEVER .. if i want to use Internet Explorer ... i minimise the aol screen .. and open IE.. the homepage comes up ... but straight away the aol page will re-open .. i minimise it again .. but again soon as i put anything into IP browser .. the aol one comes up again .
Why doesn't / can't it stay minimised and out of the way till i re expand it ?
hope i make sense !!.

Uninstall anything to do with AOL."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I'm not saying you should move ISP, just don't use their software, it's more hassle than it's worth and you don't need it.

superscaper ... sounds too scary a change to me !! .. i'm not techie minded and i cannot afford to lose any of my aol info or facilities .
is there no other options ?0 -
There is nothing to it really & you can't remain with aol software for life, well you can but I would not reccomend. Their software is a disaster & you won't lose anything as all your mails will be on aol servers which you can acsess from anywhere using any browser. However if you are not ready to stop using their bloatware then try another browser such as
www.opera.com & see if that works.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0 -
Hi Pennymakespounds
Try the following to see if IE is the default browser:-
In IE, select Tools->Internet Options
Select the Program Tab
Under the "Default web browser" title, click "Make Default"
See if that works ?“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
phoodless .... tried that ... made no differrence0
