Online store misleading advertisement

I bought a 47" LCD monitor through approved partners of TXXCO direct website.
The monitor was discounted from 1000 to 155 pounds during the winter sales.
The listing's title, detail description, the picture, my online invoice was all about a 47"inch monitor. But the second pictures onwards were advertising about a 17"inch monitor.
At the end, the 17" inch was delivered. I was so angry that I felt I was cheated and misleaded. I emailed the supplier, they do not bother to send me back the 47"inch monitor. They claimed it was a wrong description. The approved partner only provided a refund if I return the product or they send the carrier to pick it up. While I requested them to send me the 47 inch, they turn a deaf ear to me.
Is there anything I can do to raise the issue to any watchdog or consumer right organisation if they don't supply me the 47"inch monitor? . Or to return the item for a refund is the only final destiny ? I feel cheated. I cannot accept they make an excuse/reason due to a 'wrong listing' They should have honoured the price and delivery of the 'wrong listing' then. The so called wrong listing is still on the TXXco website now selling the 47" monitor. I have the online invoice saying I bought a 47" inch monitor. Please help and advise.
Thanks

Request a refund, they won't be sending you a 47" monitor.
Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!

An obvious mistake, which you noticed, but still bought it. Get your money back. The listing's title, detail description, the picture, my online invoice was all about a 47"inch monitor. But the second pictures onwards were advertising about a 17"inch monitor.0 -
I noticed their mistake only after they sent me the 17"inch monitor.
That's why I said their advertisement is misleading.0 -
Usually you will see the term "E&OE" on online websites which means "Errors and Omissions Excepted".
A reasonable person would be deemed to know that a £1000 product for £155, and with pictures of 2 different products, could well be an error so in my view I dont think you have a strong case and I'd go for the £155 refund.
Fact that there were pictures of 2 different products within the ad page would also suggest a genuine error and the supplier wasnt intentionally trying to mislead.
You saw the pictures of the 17" monitor and most people buying these items would know that £155 is more or less the market value of a good quality 17" monitor, certainly not a 47"
You say you feel cheated, but in your heart of hearts, did you really expect to get a new quality 47" screen for £155?
Not sure which precise site you used but td website terms say
"14.3 Every effort is made to ensure that prices shown for products are correct when the products are added onto the ..... site. If, by mistake, we have under-priced a product, we will not be obliged to supply that product to you at the stated price, provided that we notify you before we despatch the product to you. In those circumstances, we reserve the right to cancel your order. In the event we cancel your order, we will notify you and give you a full refund on any amount already paid for that product."
Which site did you buy from and what does its Terms say about pricing errors?0 -
This one?

Does show 17" and 47" in photos.
Would be disappointed to pay over a £1000 and get the 17" version though:rotfl:The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
They have updated the website as it now only shows 47 inch at full price0

Someone will pop up soon with the "loss of bargain" argument.
It will be fruitless trying to pursue it - accept the refund.0 -
That is the one I bought. Fairly speaking, the price was reduced from 1053 to 153. I added into basket and paid sucessfully. Check that link. They are stilll showing the 17" monitor.
Heart to Heart, product can be discounted to 70-80% during final clearance sales of the winter sales. My point is they still haven't amended the errors after I report it. That's why I said from the whole advertisement, I feel cheated and the listing were indeed misleading.0 -
They haven't changed any of their website except the 'discount' finished. So, those who paid 1060 pounds, should they get a 47" or 17" is debatable. As their system link this item directly to the 17" inch stock in their warehouse and the 17" is dispatched.
My point is no matter you paid 153 or 1050, you will also feel what I felt. Check the tile, content, pictures, my online invoice is all about a 47" monitor, mate.
My point is I think this is an advertisement for a 47" monitor definitely. But they added few pictures of 17" inch by error.
If this is not a strong case to pursue it, I will take the refund. But I also think, if someone buy this item now for 1060, you should have received a 47" monitor. why I should receive a 17" monitor.0
