Mending bad concrete path

I need to make good a garden path. It is concrete, and over the years has cracked and broken up badly, but it is for some god knows what reason steel re-inforced!!!
So, I cannot break and lift it easily, and need to repair it instead. Ideally I guess it would need patching, then skimming lightly over the top to make it look good. I am aware that thin layers on concrete may not survive without cracking up, and may not adhere.
Also aware of the various polymer added products, which may do the job? Has anyone any advice, or preferably experience of same, and so able to recommend a product.
Thanks

Get a 9 inch angle grinder, a diamond disc and chop it up/get rid and replace. Hire a breaker to help. Some jobs are worth doing properly.0

As above. Any other way is a bodge and will crack up again sooner or later as it seems the ground was not prepared properly originally. This is a little odd given the cost and time of adding steel reinforcement to the concrete.0

Yes also as above for the path.....Or..
If it is acceptable to you consider just laying slabs over the existing path provided the concrete one is not structurally a problem, you can allow the extra height and the change esthetically.0 -
i would smash it up and put about 2 inches of concrete on top of it .. you can get ready mixed and the lads to dump it for you. watch a you tube vid to get a better idea.“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
