Sky cancelation HELP!!!

I am out of contract with Sky called today to see if I could get a better deal than the one Virgin is offering, Sky couldn't match it so I said I'd cancel and they didn't even try to get me to stay.
I didn't really want to go with Virgin as I don't want the hassle of the transfer and Sky broadband and tv have always been good.
Has anyone ever been called back by Sky and been given a better offer than the one originally quoted?
Will I have to send Sky a groveling email saying take me back? lol

I cancelled last year not long after I'd moved house, as I wanted to give up watching so much telly but I had moved my service to the new house when I tripple checked this meant I wouldn't be bound by a new contract.
First they offered me free sky+ features for a year, so pause / record etc. Then a week after the cancellation went through, they phoned and just offered me the same basic package I was on free for a year, as well as free internet for a year, so now I'm just paying for the land line. It hasn't helped cutting down my tv watching though like I'd hoped. Hopefully they won't keep offering it for free when the year runs out. Oh I also still got the free boxset and free movie rental offer over christmas too.MFW OP's 2017 #101 £829.32/£5000

Thanks for the reply. Was this after you had fully cancelled? I'm in the 30 day cancel period at the moment0 -

The first few letters about the free sky+ were during the 30 days. The free for a year phone call was a week after it was fully cancelled. I still had phone and internet with them though so I don't know if that made the difference.Jobbydooze wrote: »Thanks for the reply. Was this after you had fully cancelled? Check on your profile you have ticked so sky can contact you (phone/email etc). I cancelled tv as contract was coming to an end, had about 24days left before cut off and got 60% off tv package, rolling 30 day contract. If you go on the interactive services on sky tv it may bring up an offer of 60%. I had a couple of calls from them and ended up ringing them to sort out a deal as needed to negotiate bb and phone as well.0

I checked thru my Sky box and it offered me 60% which is better than 1/3 they offered on the phone, but on the phone they also offered 50% off BB too so that was a better deal.
Is it easy to find in my Sky account if I have it ticked so they can contact me?0 -
Go for switch off, as you won't get anything less than in the notice period and could well get more.
That's why I referred to reading old posts as people list the offers they had , along the way.0
