Bank Of Scotland Vantage account

Options
I watched TM and I wanted to open the Bank Of Scotland Vantage account, I have open one account online, but I am having difficulty to open the second account - it says that I need to wait 30 days until I can open other one. I have tried phoning them up but apparently I am not verified on their system so they cannot open my account for me, please can you advise me on what to do.

I was rejected for a second account online when I applied a few days after opening the first. I waited 3 months and reapplied and was accepted, then opened my 3rd days later with no problems
It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type

I had the same initial problem. However, I found that once I had opened the first and deposited 5k in the account BoS had no problem finding me on the system and I was able to apply for a second using the above method and finally a third all in the space of 10 days. Unless they have tightened the system at BoS, I would give it a try :D;)

  • I remember getting rejected for a 2nd account online.
Phoned up to open the 2nd, managed to open the 3rd online.

Hi. I have 3 of these accounts currently dormant because of the need for DDs. Have you folks found an easy way of creating multiple DDs to support the interest rate. I've already got a Tesco Internet Saver to create DDs to support other Bank accounts.

Then what's wrong with using your Internet Saver to set up 2 direct debits to each of your Vantages? Tip: You'll need to input a different account nickname to set up 2 mandates to the same Vantage account from the same Internet Saver. E.g. BOS1A, BOS1B.

Ah! Wasn't aware of that. Thought I was limited to the number of debits I could create. Off to try now. Thank you.:D

Edit: All sorted. Excellent! Thank you very much.

I set up 1 DD at account opening. Attempted second set up through "Add another account" with different nickname- states direct debit set up and can take 30 days to process but gave no option for amount or date, couldn't appear to edit it to add this. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks
  • I opened a Tesco internet saver and instant access savings account and set up direct debits from each of these for all 3 BoS accounts.
