short fixed price gas deals?
Unexpectently have had to change from oil to gas recently.
I am on a variable tariff with Eon, my fixed term tariff for electricity is fixed til August 2017.
Anyone know of a fixed rate on Gas til August when I can do a dual fuel deal?
Alternatively if that not possible (have looked and not found anything), what the best way to manage gas till then?
Many thanks

A fixed tariff with no exit fee is what you want, something like Zog Saturn 12. Look at the comparison sites. But why do you want dual fuel, single fuels often work out cheaper.0

Have you looked for a longer fixed term gas tariff with no exit fee?
You could sign up for that and then just leave in August (assuming keeping it isn't cheaper).3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux0 -

There is no logic to a long fix with gas imho. Gas prices are not the issue. The cost increases at the moment are very much in the electricity sector for a variety of reasons - wholesale costs are but a small part. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. A long term gas fix makes great sense, if you can secure a good rate, because it's the biggest part of most people's energy bill as people use so much of it. Every 1p extra per unit, at 15,000kwh per year is £150.
Think back a few years and gas was getting upto 4-5p/kWh, so with falling exchange rates and Brexit uncertainty, when you can fix for 24 months at ~3p/kWh, just do it and then forget about it for the next 2 years.
To the OP - think about going the single fuel route and lock in a reasonable 24 month gas fixed tariff.0 -
I can get a fixed electric deal for 8% more than I am currently paying.
The cheapest gas is 26% dearer.0 -

That's odd. My gas (fixed early December) is 0.02p dearer than it was it Jan 16 - still below 2.8p.
My electricity is the same price as my old GB deal: the cheapest tariff available today is 28% more expensive.

I am currently paying 1.9p for gas, cheapest is 2.8p, cheapest deal is £128 dearer. I wish I had taken EDF up on their 2 year deal at the time, £20 dearer but prices were falling.0
