Peugeot 307 key

The buttons keep breaking off the board inside of my car key, so I can't use the buttons to lock or unlock the car, I've soldered them a couple of times but I've tried again and the solder doesn't seem to be holding anymore.

I see I can but a new board on ebay for a fiver.

Can I just swap this out, and the key can be used?

Or will it need to be coded to the car?

Nothing else will be changing with the key and it has a separate transponder chip that's not attached to the board.

It will need to be coded to lock/unlock the car. This is not the same as coding the immobiliser, obviously.

coded in the same way that say a battery died and you have put the key in the ignition and press the buttons for it to sync together again?

or is it more complicated than that?

I'd expect it to be the same process as when a key has 'lost' its coding, but I've never owned a Peugeot so cannot be categorical about that.
