Help with Barclays Additions PBA Charge Reclaim

Hi All,
Hoping that someone can advise me:
I have had a barclays current account since 1993, I have never banked with anyone else.
I honestly believed that I had no choice but to pay for my account and thought that the benefits like Rac Cover, Will writing etc were free and I would have to pay for my account anyway.
I am going to covert to a fee-free account and raise a complaint through resolver. Problem is I really do not know how I came to have this account. I know through my resaearch that the Additions account became available in 1996. So either:
They automatically upgraded me to Additions in 1996 when they released the new account without my permission.
Or they sold it to me when I went into my Branch to ask for a small overdraft. Not sure when I did this as it was so many years ago and I have only kept paperwork for preceding 5 Years; would have been between 1995(before Additions) and 1998 I think.
I have completed the form for an SAR(Subject Access Request) twice, the first time being 6 mths ago, the second 3 mths ago but have not recieved anything.
Anyway I feel I was mis-sold either because I was upgraded to additions without consent or because I wanted an overdraft.
Should I just be honest when filling in the form as above, or do I need to specifically know which it was in order to be successfull in a claim.
Please can anyone shed any light or give me some advice.
Thanks in advance

If you submitted the DSAR to the right people with £10 payment they have 40 days (iirc) to respond to you otherwise you can complain to the ICO. Have they cashed your cheque and confirmed receipt of your request?
Do note though you do not need to do a DSAR to complain about the account, if the bank has your data you don't need a copySam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
