Waterproof paint?

Hi all,
I plan to put a climbing plant in the corner of my living room, guided by wires, but the plant I have in mind will need daily misting.. so, I am wondering if there is some kind of waterproof paint that would stand up to this?
Thanks in advance.

Are your walls painted, or wallpapered? In general, you can always use standard gloss paint, and if I remember correctly there is some sort of transparent gloss to protect wallpaper from dirt, e.g. so you can clean it with a sponge. But I very much doubt any wallpaper would survive daily misting, with drops ON the wallpaper.
If your plant needs this much humidity (maybe more information on which climbing plant you had in mind would help?) it is not suited for a warm and dry living room but should go in your conservatory, if you have one. You could well end up with either a dead plant or mould problems due to the high humidity you created in your living room.
That said, if your plant just needs an occasional bit of spraying (e.g. a ficus), preferably at least a foot away from the wallpaper, you are going to be just fine, no waterproofing required.0 -
Hi haf1,
The plant is an arrowhead plant (Syngonium podophyllum) which doesn't need daily misting but likes a humid environment but out of direct sunlight.
It is wallpapered but I work in an old people's home and the painted wallpapered walls are cleanable. It isn't glossy either although has a slight sheen.0
