Loading microsoft office on vista

Hi

Just set up my new computer (yippee) but I have a slight problem. I went to load my microsoft office 2000 software but the only disc I seem to have is the step by step guide. Is it possible to copy the software off my old computer to put on my new one. Wont be using old computer for office just internet access.

Thanks

I don't think you would be able to "copy" it across. You need the actual installation files on the CD. Also I read 2000 is a bit hit and miss anyway with working on Vista. For such an old version you're probably actually much better off ditching it and using Openoffice which is about the functional equivalent of 2003.

Another vote for Open Office - from technophobe me (had to get a friend to download and install it for me - but anyone half way competent should be able to manage it themselves) - and its FREE.
