I am buying a new bathroom suite but need a bit of advice

I am in the process of ordering a new bathroom suite and have been told to get a wc that will feed out to the wall if that makes sense!
Anyway, I am looking at my options and there is a 'closed coupled wc', a 'wall hung' and a 'back to wall'. I am assuming I can have a back to wall one but what on earth is a closed coupled? The brochures arent really helping me with the explanations.
If this is in the wrong section can a mod move it to where I will get more replies please?
Thanks.

Hello Carter
I'll move your thread to the 'In my home' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

I might be wrong, but in some countries it's normal to have the WC outflow going straight down through the floor, but in the UK it's normal for it to go out through the wall - hence 'through the wall'
Close coupled is where the cistern and the basin seem to be almost one unit, wall hung means just that - supported on the wall, no contact with the floor, and back to wall is the more traditional type.

Can anyone answer my thread on cisterns and valves please? Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
You can see a picture of a low level and a close coupled toilet on this page- http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/toilets.htm
You can also get a high level, which is like the low level one, but the cistern tank is a lot higher.
No idea what a back to wall one is?0 -
Thanks for the replies so far, I now understand what a close coupled wc is.
So tell me, in this link:

Does it feed out to the wall or not as it says bottom outlet??
Just to add to your post Raksha, my old house had a downstairs loo with the outlet going through the floor. I was always worried something may have been able to work it's way up through the sewers so the lid of the loo was always down!0
