Can cheques be paid into saving bank accounts?
(the cheque is a cheque in US dollars, and this will have a fee for them to process it, convert it, and might take longer to process)
but can it be paid into a savings bank account, over the cashier?
Such as,
Santanders saving account, or RBS savings account?
(instead of a current account)

Obviously not, as some saving accounts stipulate online management only and often funding/withdrawals via a specific current account only that they are linked to.but can it be paid into a savings bank account, over the cashier?
Santander: General Terms & ConditionsSuch as,
Santanders saving account, or RBS savings account?
P.23 implies that cheques can be paid into some saving accounts, I guess all that can be managed via branches: http://www.santander.co.uk/uk/savings/compare-our-range0 -

If you type the sortcode of the account into a checker such as the one below it will tell you if that sortcode is eligible for cheque clearing, although that won't tell you if one will be accepted over the counter, and certainly won't tell you what the bank will say about processing foreign currency cheques.

As an aside & absolutely no help to the OP, what is wrong with posting in more than one place if the question is relevant to both? I only frequent a few areas of the forum so wouldn't have seen this elsewhere.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -

As you haven't attempted to answer the OP's question that hardly matters does it?
I think it's considered poor forum etiquette to duplicate questions across different threads or sections, especially within minutes of each other. Maybe OK if you ask a question in one place but don't get a result after a few days to try elsewhere. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
