First choice, careul what you ask for

Any one got any ideas to solve this one.In August i went into my local First Choice to book my honeymoon for the following year, helpful( i thought at the time) lady there sold me a lovely looking and not cheap trip to the Maldives, during the booking i asked her twice if the weather would be ok, ie not monsoon season, she said it would be fine, so after checking the weather for the last three weeks (as this is the time of year we are going next year), it became obvoius it was the very wet season. So back to first choice i go explain this and i'm told "you said monsoon season, they don't have a monsoon season but they do have a wet season and you should have asked that at the time of booking". If i had booked a skiing holiday would i have had to check there was frozen water instead of saying snow. I was offered to move the holiday to MARCH 2009 but not to get my deposit back, Can you be mis-sold a holiday or have i made the mistake by not using the correct terminoligy.

I have been to the Maldives twice, and even in Monsoon season the weather is still fantastic, so the advisor was not wrong.

Which island are you staying on?
    Gone ... or have I?

I went during the 'monsoon' season, and saw 1 day of rain. It was great!

However, for long-haul I do recommend specialists for the regions if you're not prepared to do the research yourself. First Choice staff sell everywhere, thus won't tend to be knowledgable about the weather, unless it's Europe.
