Does anyone know: where may I pay in my US $ in cash to send them to Australia without getting too much charted in currency exchange and transfer fees. Issue is I can't find a bank in Germany nor UK who would take my US $ directly without transferring them first to £ or euros and then sending them to Australia in Australian $.
Thank you for your help.

I think any bank in UK can send £ to Australia without converting to AUD.Sabina_Rademacher wrote: »Issue is I can't find a bank in Germany nor UK who would take my US $ directly without transferring them first to £ or euros and then sending them to Australia in Australian $.
Similarly, any Europan bank can send €.
Some UK banks offer USD accounts, e.g. http://www.barclays.co.uk/Otheraccounts/Currencyaccounts/ForeignCurrencyAccount/P1242557963858
However they charge a monthly fee that, depending on the amount, can overweight the conversion fee, not to mention that they don't help to avoid the transfer charges and the conversion charges in Australia.
Consider converting $ to £, depositing to a £ account, then using a currency broker:

If there's only a few banknotes, my solution would be to place them in a light leaflet or such (to obscure their outline) and send them to Australia by ordinary airmail.Evolution, not revolution0
